@LT123456789 I've sent you a direct message about this. Thank you.

Lightroom version: 8.5 (Aug 5 2025)

Macbook Pro M4 15.6, Sequoia 15.6

I currently cannot reliably batch export from Lightroom without half of my edits disappearing. Lighting adjustments export fine. It's the 'Remove', and I think sometimes 'Masking', edits that do not apply to exported images.

I sporadically get these yellow icons on edited images that say 'AI Edit Status' and it prompts me to update AI settings to properly render the edits. As soon as I navigate to other photos, and go back to previously 'updated' photos, all my removed objects are back and it prompts me to 'update' again. Like I scroll down in the folder and scroll back up and the AI edits are unrendered again.

I've also tried Photo > "Update AI settings in all photos."

The problem persists and random photos will export unedited, and it changes with every export. You can never tell what will or won't be exported properly. So I can't even reliably sort good exports from bad.

The only way I can export a correct image is to go to a single image, update AI settings, and then export. And then move to the next. I cannot navigate to any other photo after updating AI settings, before exporting it, otherwise the edits will disappear.

It is simply not feasible for me to do this for folders of 500-1,000 photos. Is there any fix for this? I'm currently running the latest version which, according to older threads, should have fixed the issue.

Please help.

Lightroom version: 8.5 arm64 [ 20250805-2023-ec91a85 ] (Aug 5 2025)

Macbook Pro M4 15.6 (24G84), Sequoia 15.6

AI edits do not export into jpegs.

This is a loss of basic functionality that renders Lightroom UNUSABLE.

Lightroom is consistently prompting me to Update AI settings, but when I do, it doesn't solve the issue, and it prompts me to do so again. Every batch export, the files that do not have AI edits applied changes. It's random every single time and I have no way of knowing what photos are going to have edits applied.

Nothing written in any of these threads works for me. If I cannot export photos from Lightroom, I simply cannot use it.

Greetings all,

A new update for the Adobe Photography products has been released.  The August update contains an update regarding this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by pressing  [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

I’ve been working on this gallery for over 6 hours and I’m beyond frustrated. I’m using Generative AI and have made all the necessary changes, but when I try to export, the preview doesn’t show my edits. After exporting, the changes still don’t appear.

If I go back to the image, I see an icon prompting me to update. I’ve done this multiple times—over and over—but nothing changes. I’m exhausted and my eyes are literally burning at this point. Can someone please help me figure this out? My lightroom up to date.

I have 670 gigs of free disk space. You're totally right that the disk space shouldn't matter Courtney A, bc I just recently switched from an old windows laptop with low ram, out of space and had no issues exporting Generative Fill edits. Now I'm on a brand new Macbook M4 Pro with more ram than I had before, all this open disk space, yet the issue is happening after the Adobe update on LR. They need to fix this.

Hi everyone,

We truly appreciate your patience as we work to experience this issue for ourselves. I appreciate how straight forward this bug seems, but trust me when I say, it’s a bit of a bear. If you are experiencing dropped edits on batch export, please read on if you'd be willing to lend a hand.

If you are seeing this bug, please take the following steps after you your next export that results in missing edits.

  1. Do not restart Lightroom
  2. Generate your Lightroom Diagnostic Log by going to Preferences > Account and hold the opt/alt key to expose the button to generate and save the Log.
  3. Next, grab three Lightroom log files from the following location:
    • On macOS, the path is ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Logs.
    • On Windows, the path is usually %APPDATA%\\Adobe\\CameraRaw\\Logs, which translates to C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Logs
    • The files are named:
      • Adobe Lightroom Log Latest v0.txt
      • Adobe Lightroom Log Latest v1.txt
      • Adobe Lightroom Log Latest v2.txt
  4. If you ‘re willing, export one of your problem original files as “original file + settings” so we can see exactly what you’ve done, no matter how simple it seems.
  5. Finally, set those files aside and send me a direct message. I’ll let you know how to send them to us.

After you’ve done all that, then I’d like you to try shutting down Lightroom and restarting your computer. I know that sounds basic, but one of our theories is that the issue might be related to multiple, long edit sessions and repeated exports. Personally, I usually just put my Mac to sleep, so I can unknowingly leave applications running for weeks before I restart. In contrast, we're constantly installing new test builds, so long uptimes are uncommon for us. It’s just a theory, but we’d be very interested to learn if this helps, one way or the other.

Thanks in advance for your help, and once again for your patience.

Best,

Jason

I have this problem upon export

"some images need ai settings to be updated before export"

Please help!

I have now experienced this issue for the past two months, and it's both super frustrating and "dangerous" as batch exports are a lottery if the AI-based edits are present or not in the final JPEGs. Thankfully I am a hobbyist photographer and not commercial, but still...

I tend to update Lightroom ("CC") to the latest asap. I also have Lightroom Classic installed, but only used for batch processing based on ISO levels (I can't find an equivalent comprehensive photo sort feature by image attributes in "CC").

I have also tried switching Preferences > Performance > GPU > ... to Off. I am sure that used to work a month ago, but now that's not the case. Sometimes it exports correctly, other times it doesn't.

Please fix 🙏
