P: LrD v9.4 Can't paste GPS info in Local view

When I paste GPS data into Lightroom in the info panel where it says GPS, it doesn't save. I've done this before without any problem in the previous version of Lightroom. Updated to version 9.4 now it doesn't work. Is this a bug? Does anyone know?

    I can reproduce this with Local files (not Cloud) and have filed a bug for the team. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

    Description of Issue: Cannot update the geolocation data by entering the precise GPS coordinates into the information tab in Lightroom. Previously I was able to enter GPS in the following format: 51.508333, -0.128333 which would be accepted in Lightroom.

    Lightroom Desktop Version Number: 9.4.1 arm64 [ 20260625-0318-d30e963 ] (Jun 24 2026)

    OS Version Number: 26.3.1

    Step-by-step Reproduction Instructions: Select image which doesn’t have any GPS data (either square grid or Detail view), open info panel, add in GPS (eg: 51.508333, -0.128333), press enter/return on keyboard.

    The Expected Result: Map result should appear below the GPS field and coordinates are saved in the image’s metadata.

    The Actual Result: No map is displayed and when returning to check the image’s information, the GPS data is not saved.

    I have the same issue @Sameer K  - I have copy-pasted GPS coordinates from Google Maps for ages but now not being accepted as input in the info panel (Lightroom Desktop 9.4). In fact even if I type the coordinates in by hand of form -35.0540822,148.01478738465863 it is not accepted.

    Hey, @eronican70264546. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll move the post to Lightroom Ecosystem discussions for now.

    I've tried to recreate this and couldn't get it to behave as reported. Also, please test and confirm whether the issue occurs with a specific set of steps. Please share a video & screenshots of the workflow and the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    @Sameer K

    I'm copying GPS data here first from Google Maps, then from another image that already has GPS data via Sony's app on my iPhone, and pasting it into an image that lacks GPS tagging. I've used both of these methods before without any problems.
