P: mobile: Crop defect / bug

A few days ago I reported a bug to Adobe Online Support about the new Lightroom CC Mobile version on iPad. There is no way to change the orientation of a selected crop between landscape and portrait mode. Support told me that this would be given to the engineering team for a fix, but I have not heard any response. With this bug, the tool is pretty much useless for selecting and cropping my first sweeps going through thousands of pictures. So I hope someone reads this forum and replies ... hopefully indicating that this is being worked on ASAP.

On top of that I would even add two additional weird things that have changed.

1. To crop an image in the previous version I had to merely tap the Crop tool and then select the aspect ratio, maybe tap the aspect ratio again to change the orientation of the crop from landscape to portrait. Now, in order to Crop an image I have to tap the Crop tool, then tap the Aspect Ratio pop-up, then select the ratio. Doing this for thousands of images will now take quite some extra time.

2. The Flag/Rating details display icons have been removed from the main editing screen and require me to flip (tap the little three buttons) in order to see them, which is extremely inconvenient. There is plenty of screen real estate to keep those two little icons in place exactly the way it was before - which was a perfect implementation.

I would strongly suggest to Adobe to please reverse those "improvements" ... the previous layout worked so much better. And FIX the crop orientation bug along with the extra Aspect Ratio pop-up and make it reappear right after tapping the Crop function in the main menu (who needs Rotate, or two Flip modes). I have to admit, though, that the Straighten function works nice and makes sense in this menu as well.

    I just got a message/answer from an Adobe staff member on my post in another forum saying "This will be fixed with the next update coming soon. - Guido"

    Let's now hope that the design team also listens and fixes the general clumsy user interface updates.

    It's amazing to hear, Linda, how many people have been using a similar workflow ... and as you said, they have tried to improve on an already great user interface and really made it worse.

    I also truly hope that Adobe realizes this and listens to us photogs to remedy the interface and return as much functionality to be accessible with as few taps as possible again in the future.

    This is killing my workflow. I use LR Mobile at night in front of the TV to do my first edit and that includes a surprising amount of rotated crops. I add a little BW, correction or effect just to complete my vision. but once this is done, the whole batch of images goes to my partners computer. She does the final edit, but because she wasn't the shooter she doesn't have my vision. I need to whip them into shape a bit before she finishes the edit.

    The whole crop action here seems squirrely - over-reacting to my touch. I feel like im tapping the screen over and over to make a small adjustment. this forces me to another session on my desktop and that is the workflow killer.

    The old crop was so great! Im sorry you felt it needed to be "improved". You got it right the first time!

    and I strongly ditto the 2 ideas above!!!

    Now Lightroom Mobile was updated on my iPad on May 13 .... but the Crop Bug has not been fixed?!?!

    Why is this taking so long to address an absolutely crucial function .... without this the app is completely useless to me.

    When will this be fixed?

    Thanks Rikk, appreciate the feedback that the bug is being worked on.

    The crop orientation bug has already been reported.

    The other two items would be feature requests (called Ideas here) even though they are reversions in behavior to previous versions. They would need to be entered separately however so that people can vote an comment on them individually.
