P: Unable to import PhaseOne IQ160 Raw files to Lightroom on iPad

I'm trying to use the iPad as my lightweight travel option but have found that imports fail when trying to load PhaseOne IQ160 Raw files (approx 60MB files) I can import the files to the iPad Photo Library and I can copy them from the CF card to iPad files. I've tried importing the Phase One Raws to Lightroom on the iPad from the CF card, the Photo Library and from a files folder but it always Fails to Import. Raws from my Canon and Fuji import to Lightroom on the iPad no problem.

Is there a file size limitation or some other constraint preventing the import? Unfortunately the error message doesn't give any information on why the import failed.

Thanks for any advice.

I converted this post to a bug to help track this issue while the Lightroom iOS team investigates.  LR QE was able to validate the import failure, also confirming the sample image provided is an uncompressed raw.

see: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html#PhaseOne

Note:

Camera Raw does not support compressed MOS & IIQ files from Leaf cameras. If you cannot open your MOS or IIQ files in Camera Raw, try using a camera proprietary converter to remove the file compression. Proprietary converters include Leaf Raw Converter and Phase One Capture One.

Are you using a compressed file?

Thanks Rikk, I don't believe the IIQ files are compressed?  I can import them to LRC and also open them with Camera Raw on my Mac mini. I can also import them using Lightroom for the Web. They just fail to import on my iPad Pro. I just retried and still failing on the iPad. Message said copied but failed to import.

I'll check the PhaseOne user manal just in case there is a compress files option I've missed

How much memory do you have on the iPad? I import ~60MB files from my camera all the time on my iPad without trouble but it has a 1 TB memory and so no problem copying files into the local storage. Also make sure you have the prevent from sleep setting enabled (it's in cloud storage & sync) and always import through a card reader connected (hopefully) through USB-c.

I have around 208GB free space, it's a 6th gen iPad Pro. I don't think it's a space issue as I can easily import them to the apple photo app or copy them from the card to the iPad files, they just wont import into Lightroom

thanks for taking the time to offer help!
