P: Unable to manually enter a value in the "Exposure" field using the keyboard. Version 9.5 from the App Store.

It is not yet clear whether the data entry issue in the "Masks" section has been fixed, as a new problem has already appeared. It causes even more inconvenience, because it cannot be solved by switching from photo to photo and back.

It is impossible to manually enter values in the "Exposure" field. Both on the main panel in general settings and in the "Masks" section. Using the mouse cursor or the up/down arrows on the keyboard, everything works correctly. But doing it manually is impossible. For example, when you need to enter exact values, such as +0.05 and the like. And this wouldn't be a big problem and could be done with the slider using the mouse, BUT there is an important catch. In the "Masks" section, when moving the slider with the mouse, it jumps only and immediately by 4 points, not by 1, as required for fine-tuning. For example, its values can only be 4, 8, 12 (and not 1, 2, 3), and so on. When I want to enter +0.06, an error message appears and the value increases straight to +6.0 or something like that.

Yesterday, the Option and Up/Down key combination worked. Today, it's broken. It jumps between two options and the image goes black. See video 2. What's happening? It's unbearable! Lightroom is crumbling before our eyes!

Please see the video recording that I am attaching. In other fields, values are entered correctly. I think the program does not understand values with a comma and corrects something.

In pursuit of degenerative toys, you have completely forgotten about simple functionality. I have been using Lightroom for over 10 years, and I have never seen so many problems in such a short time. Hi @adaptable_Lionheart7470,Thank you for joining my post. I haven't found a solution to this problem. Everything is still the same as I described earlier. Replacing the comma with a period in the MacBook settings made it possible to enter data from the keyboard. However, the up/down keys still don't work correctly when the Options key is held down. I'm waiting for a response from Adobe or a Lightroom update. I think there are few of us (who have encountered this error) that Adobe would pay special attention to it. Sincerely, ML

P. S. Other sliders related to changing the lightness or darkness of the image also work very strangely from the keyboard when the option and up/down buttons are pressed. And the checkbox in the keyboard control column is not fixed, if this makes a difference. Watch the additional video at the previously provided link.

Hi @Maksim Leonov, Thank you for the detailed report and video! This appears to be a known class of issue related to locale/decimal separator handling. Your system likely uses a comma (,) as the decimal separator, and Lightroom 9.5 isn't correctly accepting that format in slider text fields.

Workaround while we investigate:

Try temporarily switching your macOS Language & Region settings to use a period (.) as the decimal separator: System Settings → General → Language & Region → Number Format. Change the decimal separator to a period.
Restart Lightroom after making this change.

If none of these steps work, we can continue to troubleshoot. I hope this helps! ^CH

Hi @Claire H. Thanks for your reply and advice! Yes, I thought about that. And yes, changing the comma to a period makes it possible to enter numbers in the field. But it is still not possible to use the up/down arrows while holding down the option key. The values jump by 2 and the image becomes black or white. It looks scary, like a breakdown. Moreover, the value jumps only at the Exposure!!! You saw this in one of the videos. So, in my opinion, the problems arise for several reasons. This is half the solution. It's not convenient to work, but it's possible. But you need to find a solution to why this is happening. I really hope so. M.L.
