P: Using Lightroom on a folding device

When using Lightroom in Google pixel 9 pro fold, the app performs as expected except for opening/editing images on the inside screen. You can browse albums, and such, and edit images on the outer screen, but it shows nothing but black (with side bars and editing tools still showing though)

Greetings all,

Adobe Lightroom Mobile product updates are released.  The October (Max) updates contain a fix for this issue.

Updates will be available via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the Galaxy App Store. Note that it can take several days for some customers to receive a notification of an available update via their App Store.

Thank you for being so patient.

SOLVED. Can confirm that on the newly released 10.0 update, the issue with viewing in standard orientation on teh Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is functioning perfectly. Thank you Lightroom and the Lightroom team for the responses here and the update.

The gesture to bring up the info and rating box also doesn't work when the fold is open and rotated. Screenshot of what should be there when you pull up on the picture

The blank image issue seems to be fixed with the 10.0 update I got this morning. Anyone else?

Thank you Adobe!

I'm having the same issue. Image for editing does not load when the phone is unfolded. Black screen with toolbar on the side. Cover screen works.

Another Pixel 9 Pro Fold user here with the same issue, waiting on an Adobe fix.

Just checking, both of you know the workaround of rotating the phone 90 degrees?  If you rotate from the gallery view (if you rotate when an image is already open it doesn't work).

You know what's funny?

The issue in question does not happen if you open a video! LOL

Please check out the screen capture I took and you'll see in the end that I can open a video without having to rotate the screen first.  You'll see a slight flicker when I rotate the screen.

We are currently working on it and should be fixed soon, However if you can create a short video and share it that would help for further investigation. Also the Diagnostics logs please refer:

DONE!

I emailed the logs, per your instructions and also included a link to the screencapture I took showing the problem.

Here is the link to the screencapture in case anyone wants to see.

Please go to phone settings.

1. Search for Display size

2.you will find each app with some aspect ratios

3. Select Lightroom to 4:3 aspect ratio.

4. And then Test Lightroom.

The Pixel 9 Pro FOLD does not have a 4:3 aspect ration but only 3:2.  Upon saying that, the 3:2 works but we're wasting the whole screen of the device.  This is a stop gap but no means a fix.  Why can't we use the full screen on any of the fold devices?

This isn't something new.  This also happened on my OnePlus Open.  I was hoping the issue was already fixed when I picked up my P9PFold but unfortunately it isn't.

The quick way to fix is to rotate your screen 90 degrees and then you can see the photo and edit them as you please.

Adobe need sto figure this issue out.  It's so annoying!

Came here to post exactly the same thing - I was looking forward to editing on my new pixel 9 fold, but the app is unusable at the moment

The same problem here. Even there is a workaound by turning the phone it has to be fixed by adobe. This is why I wrote this thread. One reason why I bought the Pixel 9 Pro fold is Lighroom CC...
