P: Gradients don't work well with artboards

- If you're using a gradient layer with a mask, the gradient doesn't correctly fit to its bounds

- If you're using artboards and have content outside the bounds of the artboard, the gradient will size to that, rather than to the artboard

This is still a problem. Was looking online because I'm having the same issue right now

Same here. This is such a major issue! I have to deliver a massive file for a client with more than 150 Artboards and they all need to be moved around all the time. I'm using a lot of gradients and it's such a mess. This bug is a nightmare, and costs me a lot of money, Adobe!

Please fix it, ASAP.

I have resorted to using "classic gradient" option. You don't get all the nifty edit options but at least it appears to work in the latest update to Adobe.
I spent over an hour on the phone with a human rep. They saw first hand the issue and moved it to "engineering". Their solution was I would just have to wait for the next update or revert back 2 versions. Not a solution at all.

FYI: I got a hold of a human by asking the chat bot over and over and over to speak with a human. The algorythm I think is set up if you annoy the crap out of the chat bot they defer to a human 🙂

Nearly two decades using adobe products here. I am embarking on a massive project that needs to have individual files that make use of artboards and gradients - such high level stuff! /s... Thank goodness Im on my prototype template and learning that the expensive software I pay for doesnt accomplish these tasks. Moving everything into figma now. Fail.

Gradients are still jumping around every time I add an artboard, causing me to have to reposition them. Gradients are also shifted in exported files.

Is there a benefit to having a gradient's position be a coordinate of every artboard rather than the artboard it's on? I'm struggling to figure out why a gradient instance wouldn't be "stapled" to its artboard.

@zafdaddy please share your workflow and any screenshots of what you are seeing.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

It's now September and the issue remains. I found that if I turn the visibility of an artboard off then on again, most of the gradients come back. Then I export the art boards, then save. If I save before export, the export is jacked.

I just got happy with new gradient but not for long - Saving documents messes up all the gradients, they jump around randomly - out of artboard bounds. How is possible to release this feature with such a big bug?  Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2QADEvEspg

Everytime I press CTRL+S, or choose to save via menu, save As - same happends, gradients get messed.

I was on a screen share with Adobe yesterday, and the person trying to help said they needed to pass it onto a specialist, they seemed to have no idea this is an issue?! I was booked in for a call today, but no one called. Pretty frustrating. Adobe, any chance you could get on this or at least acknowledge you're looking into this issue?

That's just not possible unfortuantely. I think the best fix for anyone in this position is to roll back to an older version.
