P: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill produces different colors at the edges of the selection.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.

I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system.

My color space is already on sRGB and it is still not matching

You can keep your file in your preferred profile. Just setting the sRGB colorspace in photoshop is needed for getting the colors to match.

Thank you , I rarely use an sRGB format (setting) , I need to print my work so I work in 16 bit RVB . It is true this bug a has just walked over the best tool in Adobe,

That is a standard photoshop setting for colors that sets sRGB as the color space among other things that temporary fixes discoloration when using gererative fill.

I thought that the images would keep the titles on them, they don't so the third image is by changing the setting from RVB to CMJN ; THis is not a fix, I just needed to find away around the problem for the time being.

Hello,

I have a problem with Adobe Beta’s generative fill , which I had not until I uploaded a new version, 20.0.0

Since I don’t like coming to the table empty handed I have brought as much information as I could.

I am enclosing two images since the problem can be seen clearly. I am also adding The System information.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I have tried loading my raw files into Camera raw and continuing on to photoshop , just to see if it made a difference, I have tried jpegs instead of PSD, and nothing seems to work. I have tried unlocking the image , copying the masque, . Nothing happens. I have even tried going from 16 Bit to 8 bit.

However , I can get a quick fix if I change my image setting from RVB to CMJN

Hey,

I'm back and I'm not sure why my problem woundup in this thread. As my profile states I'm new, but the problems being expressed in this thread, specifically realted to generative fills have nothing to do with my problem. The color errors are also clearly drawscreen errors as they relate to zooming in and out.

That being said, I think I did figure out what's going on. I don't have enough RAM and somehow this generates a fatal drawscreen error (this is my own made-up term, but I thought it fit and sounded good). For example, the file I use as an example in this thread is now 3.85 GB and has 74 layers. When I open the file, it takes up 58.1 GB or RAM and 53.1 GB on the scratch disk (a 1 TB SSD). Now that 58.1 GB is perilously close to the machine limit of 64GB. And if I go too high, that's when Photoshop cannot redraw the screen correctly. Now why that corrupts the file, I have no idea. However, this is what I've got so far.

I played with the color profiles a little bit and probably found better workaround.

LrC set to ProPhotoRGB, PS set to sRGB, in the color setting for RGB set Preserve Embedded Profiles and Profile Mismatches: Ask When Opening, like this (this one is optional, just you don't forget, that your default colorspace is set to sRGB)
