P: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill produces different colors at the edges of the selection.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.

 

I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system.

      Same problem here, but it doesn't occurs when I check « Convert document's colors to the working space ». It seems that part of the image sent to the cloud for IA treatment doesn't take care of color profile.

        Same problem here with new beta 25.0. Generated content is fine, but the blending is off. At the same time, the "remove tool (J)" has no issue, content generated correctly, perfect blending. This was not a problem in the previous version (I also thing 25.0, not sure with the exact version, but it was working fine during the time the LrC -> PS was broken)

          Dear all, I got the same issue with the very latest 25.0 version of Ps Beta. A clearer area instead of the car that was removed.

            I did uninstall and reinstall v25 Beta and the Expand now has the right color tone as the picture, but the Brush, Color Replacement Tool still doesn't match the color of the swatch, it's much lighter. I can get darker using Luminosity, but that is a solid color so when painting hands it doesn't look natural. To be fare I am having the same problem with the non beta v24.7 which is a recent update.

              Is there away to install the previous beta as v25 sucks?

              Not only does Generative expand return results that are a lighter tone and not easily corrected, but so does cloning and selective generation. I've resorted back to copying parts from other photos rather than use generative fill.

              Luminar Neo is coming out with generative fill. I hope it works better.

                I am also experiencing this issue with the colors not matching.  Im on beta 25.0.0. This only happens using gen fill. If I try to extend the background with content aware it does it correctly just without the AI features of course.

                @Kenneth303399867rim  if you hold the Shift key and start Ps beta, disabling any third party plugins, do you see the same issue?  If you use regular color images and expand or use GenFill, do you see the same issues with blending?

                 

                Let's make sure there is no issue with the GPU.  You should only use the more powerful GPU and it appears you have two, so check out this page and make sure that is not the issue:

                  I tried using Firefly to expand and while there are buttons that say Add or Insert it didn't let me expand my photo I could only erase parts and have it regnerate. The parts it regenerated appeared to match the tone of the photo and wasn't a shade off so it seems to work online. If there is a way to use Firefly to expand on a photo that would be a work around for now. Is that possible?

                    I'm on Beta 25 also and I have the same problem on every photo and I'm tring to figure out the easiest way to adjust the shading so it matches. Defeats the purpose to generate new information that doesn't match tone. I edit BW historical photos and then colorize them. It's a little harder to see the miss shading in BW, but when color is applied it is more obvious. I expanded this photo a half inch on each side. The only thing I did before expanding the crop was to Auto Tone, Contrast and Color. This happens on all my photos. I don't remember this being an issue when I first started using this function.  I reloaded the original photo and did no adjustments except Expand Crop and this is the results.
