P: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill produces different colors at the edges of the selection.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.

I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system.

Hello everyone ... exactly the same problem, but it appeared only after the installation of 25.0.0 - before that everything worked clearly.
The difference in shades is most noticeable on dark colors. The problem occurs not only when filling with "rectangular area" - filling with "lasso" and so on creates the same difference in colors.

Hi @Nehsa curious if the new Ps beta released the other day solves this for you?

Cory, what do you mean by a very tight selection? I fill out 1024x1024 squares with the App because if I fill out a larger area with it, the resolution of the image won't match the original. I get a blurry image on the new parts. I've seen tutorials about this on YouTube in several places, and they are right. But if I select 1024x1024 px areas for filling, then I get a good resolution in the end.

The size of the area I select for filling shouldn't cause a problem with the final result. I've watched multiple tutorials about this on YouTube, and none of them got results like mine. For some reason, Generative Fill doesn't work well for me.

I made this picture for you as requested, but the result was the same. I am attaching it for reference.

yesterday (Monday 17 July) I installed the update, since then the generative fill doesn't work as before. the colors in the applied parts no longer match the original image. I tried it on different files. the content-based fill, on the other hand, works as before.

Hi @Carmen311458746ole could you share some screenshots of what you are seeing?

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings )Win)

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

@Nehsa it appears that you are making very tight selections and seeing this, what happens if you make larger selections, or for instance in the video you shared, simplt use your magic wand and select ALL the open space to the right of your image and let GF fill it, do you see the same issue?

Cory, I noticed that this mainly occurs with darker tones.

Great, glad we were able to make sure you are seeing this on the latest version.  Could you share a video of one file where you show the workflow as well as your full workspace that the team can see showing this issue?
