P: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill produces different colors at the edges of the selection.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.

I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system.

Do you by any chance know if I pay to use this feature specifically?

Also, if we keep getting ignored when so many of us complain about the same issue then the technical support = zero.

Still the same issue here too. It's not fair that we're paying for something that doesn't fulfill its purpose and we have zero technical support.

Well, to be fair:
1. We are getting a lot for what we pay for. It's not like you only pay for this additional AI feature. If you do, I suggest you try other features of this small software called Photoshop. It's pretty good even without AI.
2. The fact that we have actual developers among us in a forum like this is waaaay more than your average company, even the ones that you could say have good customer support.

I'd like to echo this message, still no fix after a year is quite frankly ridiculous. I still have the exact same issue on multiple hardware, definitely a PS problem and not a local one.

Hi Cory!

I created this post almost a year ago and unfortunately you have not been able to come up with a solution to my problem.

Can I expect a solution in the near future?

Because it's useless to have this great feature in Photoshop if I can't use it.

I attach a screenshot I just took, you can see that I still have the problem.

Unfortunately, because of this, I can't do a lot of things I want to do because Photoshop is buggy.

I'm waiting for your reply.

Still no fix!! why?

It's unusable. Used to work beautifully. Been a disaster for months. And converting to sRGB does nothing. There is always a seam because of the difference in colors and/or brightness.

A bit less noticeable with bright colors but still noticeable.

For me the issue is in both, generative fill/ generative expand as well as Ai generated content in selection. It is just that generative expand is way more visible since it is clear line when image is expanded from 2x3 to instagram 4x5

Would you be willing to send a screenshots like I did couple of pages back ( Pictures with my wife on the beach) while generative filling? Because honestly I it was so long ago, can't even remember how it supposed to look like. Maybe I remember it all wrong and it has always been like that?

Since this bug was reported, there have been some improvements to generative fill in this area, however we are still aware of cases where the results are not a perfect match. We are continuing to invest in this area to deliver more seamless content creation, and have an ongoing internal ticket open to track progress and allow for updates here (107759, for future reference).

Looking at that ticket, we have updates from May, June and August but also more work in the pipeline. Recently one of our testers observed that, at least when working with rotated camera RAW + gen fill, creating a clipped Levels adjustment with midpoint set to 1.01 or 1.02 compensated for the color shift. Perhaps experiment with applying that adjustment to gen fill layers, at least until we can declare another improvement to how we color match our models.

There is at least one case in this thread that seems independent of gen fill, so I will follow up with @Accra5C82 separately.

That is all of an update I can provide at this time; these examples will help our teams with our investigations; thank you for those details.
