P: PS 26.9 CMD shortcuts give duplicate results

Photoshop Beta version 26.9 on MacOS 15.5

- Pressing Cmd + [ or Cmd + ] moves layers **two steps** instead of one.
- Cmd + J creates **two new layers**, not one.
- Issue persists after reinstalling and resetting preferences.
- Not caused by actions/scripts/custom shortcuts.

- Issue is only on Beta Version, not in normal version.

Hello,

I've installed the latest Photoshop Beta, but unfortunately the issue still persists. This bug is making my work nearly impossible, as my entire workflow relies heavily on keyboard shortcuts.

I'm using a Magic Keyboard on a Mac with the latest macOS. I even purchased a brand-new Magic Keyboard thinking it might be a hardware issue, but the problem continues. Interestingly, when I tested a Logitech keyboard, the issue did not occur – so it seems isolated to the Magic Keyboard.

Switching to another keyboard is not a viable solution for me, as I’ve been using the same layout for over 15 years and have built deep muscle memory around it.

I sincerely hope this bug gets addressed soon – it's a serious blocker for professional users.

Thank you!

Same thing in mine, here... PS Beta 26.9.0 in MacOS 15.5.   Duplicated commands as Commans+V, Command+E and many shortcuts not working like Command+R (show / hide rulers) Command+H (show / hide extras)  Command+I...

When I paste an image into a PS document, it pastes two copies. If I use the CMD-J function to duplicate a layer, it makes two duplicates.

Gonna chime in with everyone else:
CMD+Z goes back two steps
CMD+J produces two extra copies
CMD+ "+" zooms in twice.

Really clogging up my process and adding a lot of unnecessary time to my workflow to correct. Definitely interested in a fix for this!

Thanks!

Hi!

I use Wacom Cintiq 22HD. I use Photoshop so much. I have an issue regarding duplicating layers and a general lagging.

When I try to duplicate a layer with my tablet pen, it is working very slow (delaying) and freezes for a few second. Also, selecting some tools, etc. is having lagging issue. This problem doesn't happen if I use mouse in PS.

Can you help me?

Thank you in advance!

Try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

See here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

Do you use the latest tabelt driver?

Which version of Photoshop do you use?

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

SINCE update to 26.9.0:

keyboard shortcut commands such as cmd-z , shift+ and shift- and cmd-w are carried out twice by photoshop. so instead of closing the current document when i press cmd-w it close the current AND the next document. same for the other shortcuts. (needles to say: very frustrating)

Bug in Beta, using the keyboard shortcuts on the mac results in not one but 2 actions. For example using the pen tool, clicking command z to undo removes 2 points not one. If editing a smart object, command w to close window photoshop then asks do i want to save to document as if i have pressed command again. I thought it may have been fixed in this new version 26.9.0 but issue is still there
