Photoshop Beta (28.0.1) not responding / freezing when saving a file

When trying to save a file in Photoshop Beta (28.0.1) on Mac. The program freezes up and becomes unresponsive. Things to note are below:

• The top menu works, but everything is greyed out.
• I have to force quit the program, as it won’t quit via the menu or by right-clicking the icon.
• It doesn’t save the file.
