After the PS 2025 (v26.0) upgrade, the Remove tool consistently crashes PS

I just upgraded to PS 2025 (v26.0) on Windows 10. After the upgrade, about 80 to 90% of the time when I use the Remove Tool, it begins processing, the green status bar moves across the screen, but when it gets to near the end of processing, it stalls and then PS crashes. Prior to the upgrade, the Remove tool had never crashed PS on my PC. It happens almost always when I use the "Wire and Cables" option under Distractions. PS crashes more often than not when using regular brush removal. Is anyone else seeing this same issue? When it crashes, I am sending the bug report to Adobe.

In ten years of heavy PS usage, I have never had a single crash until this version. In addition to what I noted on my initial thread here, PS regularly locks up now when I am in LR and choose to edit the image in PS. PS opens but the image does not transfer over. Sometimes, if I wait for 3 or 4 minutes, it finally transfers. Not impressed with this update!!!

Actually, I did update my GPU drivers after the release and the subsequent crashes. It does empirically seem like I am crashing less when using the Remove tool with the updated GPU drivers, but I am still crashing frequently.

My NVIDEA 3080 drivers are up to date as well. PS still crashes with Remove tool usage 😞

My GPU tests fully compatible with PS tool and my Nvidia studio drivers are up to date. Still crashes when using "Remove distractions".

@Nite64 Maybe the GPU side of Photoshop itself has another problem. I understand that the more stable option is treated with cpu regardless of the latest driver.
The option that was created temporarily was more stable, even when the select subject was crashing for close to a year or running very slowly (this option was then newly created).
I waited a long time since then, and after a certain driver release from Nvidia, Photoshop released a new compatible release and it was only then that the bug was fixed.

From Adobe about known bugs, this work around worked for me:

Ensure your GPU drivers are up to date.
Select the More Stable option from Preferences > Image Processing > Remove Tool Processing.

The new PS is crashing on me too. And it won't open again unless I restart my computer. I had to pull up my trusty old Elements 15 to work on a few things. The PS crash doesn't affect my PC though.

Same here. I have sent several crash reports but have heard nothing !
