Broken link for linked files in Photoshop

Hello 🙂
I searched, but couldn't find an answeer for that, I hope you can help me. In my company, we use linked files in photoshop, because multiple people work on files, gathered in a bigger file. We store our files on cloud storage (sharepoint and onedrive). When we link a file, in the beginning of the link there is the username of the person who linked the file, which results in breaking the link if another person opens the bigger file. The other person then has to relink all the files, so they're usable to them. Then if someone else opens the files, the links appear broken again. Not always, but it happens pretty often. Is there a way to fix this so it doesn't put a username in the link?
Thank you

Scripting is pretty common in business environments, although more commonly around Windows and Office management. Your IT folks will understand, just tell them its like Powershell and VBA but for Adobe apps.

Unfortunately I have never used scripts myself.. I will show the scripts you sent to the guys who can do something about that problem. Thank you for your help, I will write when I have an update. Process is slow sometimes for things like this.

Good luck with the cloud storage, I suspect that its going to break badly when you have deadlines to meet and you will have data loss. Adobe apps and cloud storage simply don't work together well.

So, are you going to try some of the scripts listed in the links? They may or may not be fit for your purpose, they were just general related topics.

Do you know how to create your own script?

If not, as previously requested, can you provide a couple of different full paths so that I can find which bit's need updating?

Thank you very much! We will probably try something with the script, as you suggested... We don't really have a choice with the cloud storage, so there's nothing we can do about that.

@Margarita38830911fdtu - Are you still out there?

@Margarita38830911fdtu – The path to the asset is absolute.

A script could be used to update the path if the variable bits could be changed to match the current user.

Can you provide examples of the different file paths?

Using cloud storage is a really, really, really, really bad idea. You need an actual DAM for this kind of usage. I'm not surprised its broken.
