Brush/Eraser Gets Stuck/Freezes on Photoshop Canvas

Hi everyone, I'm starting to have a very problematic bug while using Photoshop 2024 and 2025 on my M1 Macbook Pro.

Photoshop was working fine for a long time, but over the past couple weeks, every time I select a paint brush or eraser and proceed to move my mouse to the canvas, my mouse freezes, stops, and flickers. Only by moving my mouse far enough does the cursor indicating the paint brush/eraser reappear. The paint brush/eraser appears to resume working near the layer panel and the upper/left edge toolbars, but is very unresponsive on the canvas or in the dark gray area around it.
