Enabling generative expand also enables a ridiculously poorly implemented and impossible to disable (by any intuitive means) snapping behavior.

Edit: This was meant for the Lightroom cloud community but somehow while browsing, I ended up in photoshop. Since for some unknown reason, you don't let us delete anything ourselves, please move to the appropriate place.

Try to move the crop a little bit? SNAP

Try to drag one edge a little bit? SNAP

Snaps to edges, snaps to aspect ratios, snaps to center. How the hell can I make fine adjustments to the crop without this? Who thought this was a good idea. Who UX tested this???

    • The snapping behavior can definitely make precise edits frustrating when you need small adjustments. A separate toggle for snapping, independent of Generative Expand, would make the workflow much more flexible. It would be helpful if users could temporarily disable snapping without affecting other editing tools. 😊

Thanks for sharing this. It would be helpful to have a clear option to disable snapping independently of Generative Expand, especially when making precise edits.

Somehow, while browsing the Lightroom (cloud) community, I ended up on the photoshop community and this got posted to the wrong section. Someone please move.

Moderators are unable to move threads at the moment.  Just ignore this and start a new thread in the LR forum.

Sorry, I don’t use LR, but in Photoshop you can temporarily disable Snap by holding down Ctrl/Cmd   It’s worth a try methinks.

Sadly doesn't work. Though holding down a modifier to disable/enable snapping is an almost universally accepted standard that I'm shocked was completely overlooked by LR.
