Subject: Feedback on Photoshop Chinese Translation of "Parent/Child Layers"

Dear Adobe Localization Team,  

In the Chinese version of Photoshop, Parent Layer / Child Layer has been translated as “父子关系” (father-son relationship). This translation is problematic for several reasons:  
- Incorrect meaning: The original term refers to a technical hierarchy (parent/child layers), not family relationships.  
- Gender bias: Using “father-son” reinforces a male-centered narrative, excluding mother-child or sibling relationships.  
- Negative impact in teaching: Some instructors extend this translation into “dad layer” or “son layer,” which creates unnecessary gendered associations and distracts from the actual functionality.  

I strongly recommend revising the translation to more accurate and neutral terms, such as:  
- “主层/子层” (main layer / sub-layer)  
- or “主次关系” (hierarchical relationship)  

This would better reflect the technical meaning, avoid gender bias, and improve the learning experience for all users.
