I cannot open a photo in PS from Lightroom Classic. When I'm in LRC library, I click COMMAND + E, PS opens but the photo doesn't appear.

I’m in LRC library, I click on the photo I want to open in PS and I do COMMAND + E.  PS opens but the photo doesn’t appear in PS.

Ok, my problem also seems to be solved. I rebooted my PC, without doing anything else at all to my LRC or PS installations, and now it seems I can “Edit in Photoshop” and “Open in Photoshop as Layers” from Lightroom. I should have known to have tried this earlier, seeing that the 2027 version of PS is somehow sharing the data folders with the 2026 version of PS.

Oh, perhaps I should try that. But did you have any problems when installing and re-installing? Like, did you lose any brushes or actions or LUTS that you added yourself? I notice that Photoshop 2027 did not create a new file folder for itself when I did the upgrade from 2026, and seems to be using the folder from 2026 version. And so I am afraid of losing something if I do the uninstall and re-install.

I am using Windows 11 here, fully updated. I seem to have the same problem. I just updated PS from latest 26xx version to the latest 27xx version. And now I cannot edit a photo in PS from Lightroom Classic by doing a right click and selecting “Edit in Photoshop”. Photoshop opens, but freezes, and the Task Manager shows it is using around 4% of my CPU. I need to kill PS in the Task Manager when this happens. I first noticed this problem when I selected two photos in Lightroom and attempted to do an “Edit in Photoshop As Layers”. Same behavior. Photoshop opens, but then freezes, and neither of the photos are loaded into Photoshop.

My work around for now is to use the 26xx version of Photoshop instead. I first open up the 26xx version of Photoshop and then do the “Edit in Photoshop … “ command in Lightroom. I get asked if I want to proceed with “Photoshop 2025” which is already open, and I click that I want to do so. Strange that it asks if I want to proceed with Photoshop 2025, since what actually is open is my Photoshop 2026 version.

I should have said I’m with Apple, my mistake.  I uninstall PS and re-install it and it fix the problem.
