It would be helpful to know what we are dealing with here.

Open Photoshop and go Help > System Info > Copy and paste to this thread.

Also show us a full resolution screen shot of the entire workspace with the Layers panel showing.

I’m trying to remove something using the Remove tool, but it keeps getting stuck. The app has been quite glitchy today, and I can’t get any work done. I’ve tried several different alternatives, but nothing seems to work.

Can you state which version of Photoshop and OS and how much RAM and spare hard disk capacity you have.
