lasso tool - broken.

Lasso tool is completly broken.

It starts to activate only after I move cursor few pixels which makes it not precise.

also when you try to move selected pixels just a little it jumps back to original position

Can you please fix that adobe? I would like to have my basic tool working to do my job.

    Hey, @sbn85. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I’ll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System Info. Copy & paste into a text document, then upload & attach here. 


    In this case, you can start by resetting the Lasso tool. Right-click the Tool icon in the Toolbar menu, then select Reset Tool.


    Please make sure there are no stale preferences in your Photoshop. Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

    • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

    • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe

    • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2026 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2026. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)

    • Restart the computer.

    These changes will provide a fresh start to Photoshop, much like a new installation.

    Hello, thanks for reply, it’s new PC with freshly installed CC app, Photoshop etc. it worked like this from beginning, there is no stale preferences

    I see two things in your system info.

    First: you installed an old version of Photoshop (27.4). The recent version is 27.7.

    Why do you have install the “old” version.

     

    Second: The graphic device driver is also 5 months old. Goto NVidia’s website, search for the recent version for your type of graphic card. Then download and install it. Make sure that you install the recent Studio Version of the driver. Don’t use the Game Ready Version!!
