Multiple PS problems upgrading to OS Ventura

Once again I upgraded to Mac OS 13x from OS 10.15x on a 2020 Intel iMac that’s still running PS 22.5 hoping to avoid problems I previously encountered.

No luck—this time due to new problems printing to the Epson SC-P800 I’ve deleted all P800 in System Settings, /Library/Printers…, /Library/Preferences/Adobe PS (1999 the 2021) Settings folders.

Additionally, I reset Printers in System Settings, downloaded the appropriate print driver from Epson’s site, and rebooted the iMac, the Epson, and PS…numerous times.

The problems: 1) In the Print Settings window to open Printer Manages Color (in Color Handling) I need to hold the space bar while choosing Print, or it won’t open. 2) Even then, the generic window for Printer Manages Colors comes up, not the PS Manages Color. 3) When I hit Print the P800 print window opens, sends data to the printer but then spits out blank paper.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I just upgraded PS 22.5 to 24.7.5 using OS Ventura (because everything I’ve read indicates it’s stable for Ventura). Nevertheless, I’m encountering the same problem that I had with 22.5 using Ventura previously srtated here: " 1) In the Print Settings window to open Printer Manages Color (in Color Handling) I need to hold the space bar while choosing Print, or it won’t open. 2) Even then, the generic window for Printer Manages Colors comes up, not the PS Manages Color. 3) When I hit Print the P800 print window opens, sends data to the printer but then spits out blank paper. "
Again, I had no problems with PS 22.5 running on OS Catalina. So now, after all the deletes and reinstalls I’ve done with the P800 and PS, I’m not sure what to do other than upgrade the intel iMac to Sonoma and PS to 25.31. Any other recommendations or suggestions?

I didn't upgrade PS this time because when I previously upgraded the OS to Ventura and PS to the 2023 version I experienced the following unsolvable problems, reported here last December. (So I reinstalled Catalina and PS 22.5 until today): "

Although PS can still print on my Epson P800 using ‘Printer Manages Color’, I can no longer print using ‘PS Manages Color’ whether or not I check ‘Use Generic Printer Features.’ In either instance hitting 'Print' simply ejects the FA paper. This means I can not print using my Canson paper .icc profile, even though I can select it in the PS Printer Profile window pull-down.

I’ve also tried using Printer Manages Color, choosing the ColorSync option, and pulling down the ‘Profile’ menu to ‘Other Profiles’ to locate the Canson .icc profile, but it’s not there.  So I tried adding a duplicate of that .icc profile in the HD>Library>Printers>Epson>IkjetPrinter2>ICC Profiles>EP1408OL2.profiles (using Show Contents) the rebooting the Mac etc."

Thank you for reaching out and providing details about the issue you're experiencing. I noticed that you're using an older version of Photoshop and your operating system. Is there a specific reason you haven’t updated to the latest versions yet? We typically recommend updating to the newest versions, as they often contain fixes that could resolve the issue you’re facing. ^CM
