I am using Photoshop 24.0.0. When I use the font Leander Script Pro Bold (a script font), alternate letters show when I rollover the letter, but when I try to choose an alternative, it doesn't change. I opened the file in Photoshop 23.3.2 and it worked just fine.
I am a T-shirt designer and I mostly work with fancy phonts to create my designs. Since last week I have major troubles working with glyphs / alternate characters in my fonts. All the fonts used to work properly before the update.
ISSUE 1 - pop-up does not change after chosing an alternate.
Well, this is a fancy font having 5 alternates for each letter. I typed Lorem Ipsum text and changed P to the filled one. After the change if I want to access the other alternates again, they do not show.
ISSUE 2 - letters do not change at all!
I created several designs with this font before and it worked well. In this case the alternate characters do show, but after clicking it they do not change at all.
When I want to insert the character from the Glyphs map, it inserts the default.
(you see a different letter "p" was to be inserted)
3. ISSUE 3 - text already typed with alternates changes back to default letters after clicking on it.
An older design, where I manually changed each letter for the most realistic look.
After I click on the text to edit...
Voila! All the letters are the default, the same.
I would really like this bug resolved soon as the peak season is coming.
Using Freight Sans font for numbers drops them down, normally we are able to select a different glyph character to get it inline. After updating to 2023, you can still select the right glyph, but nothing happens? Any ideas how to fix this issue?
I am experiencing this issue in 2023 as well. Alternate glyphs are not replacing the primary glyph. Even selecting an alternate glyph from the glyph panel inserts the primary glyph.
Jane, the screenshot in 24.0.0 looks identical to the way it looks in older versions. And, when I open the glyph panel, and click on an alternate, it doesn't change in 24.0.0
