P: Annoying Expand your toolkit with Creative Cloud All Apps- How to stop?

For the last week or two Adobe has been popping up ads to "upgrade my plan" in Photoshop. (Seriously guys? I already pay for this software, there are cheaper and/or free alternatives coming out every day, and you're spamming us to suck more money? You think this is a good idea?) There is a "stop for seven days" check box (hidden, that you have to scroll down to see), but no option for "[removed by moderator]" How do I stop these? Or, rather, I should say, is there a way to stop these other than dumping my Adobe subscription altogether, which is what it seems Adobe is trying to get me to do?

It is a rational response to get angry when you pay for a tool that creates a distraction to service their own greed.

I'm seeing the same thing. I've checked the box and clicked the X and the Maybe Later buttons but I still get this every day. Really annoying.

It stopped for me for a few days, even though the "don't show for 7 days" thing never worked. Now it's popping up again with a "don't show for 30 days" check-box that also doesn't work, and still pops this annoying "upgrade your plan" screen every single time I open Photoshop, even if it's been closed for only a couple of minutes. This has to be the most annoying and inappropriate thing I've EVER seen in paid software. I'd expect this in trial versions, but what Adobe is doing here is beyond stupid and beyond ridiculous. The fact that the 30-day pause doesn't even work makes me wonder if Adobe pulled an X and laid off all their competent staff. They may be forced to if they keep making boneheaded decisions. Hello! Anybody there??

Glad to hear that works for some people. It has no effect for me, nor does the 30 day pause checkbox. Its clearly a bug and not Adobe with some silly campaign idea. Would be nice to see some urgency on this from Adobe though.

So ridiculos!!! And yes, it keeps coming nevermind what you tick - why don't just have a button: Never show again? Or of course - the hounrable way - don't have any popups at all.

Same here. I get that pop-up every single time I open Photoshop. It's so annoying that it keeps coming back, even after I click 'Don't show again for 30 days'. It's ridiculous for a paid software.

I found I could turn it off by toggling off promotional communications in
the creative cloud settings. That is, not in photoshop itself as you’d
expect but in the stand alone creative cloud app.

Did adobe actually bake these adverts into an update, and they'll persist until the next upgrade?!

actual scumbag behaviour, guys, totally unacceptable!

Black Friday's over and I'm still getting those every time I open PS. What a way to make your customer absolutely despise you, bravo

This is beyond frustrating, I simply do not understand why they insist on this, it makes me want to cancel my subscription. Are they that desperate? It's actually giving the opposite effect. God I hate this thing so much.

I totally get your frustration! To stop the upgrade pop-ups, try these:

  1. Check your Adobe account settings and turn off promotional emails/notifications.
  2. You can block Adobe through your firewall if you're comfortable with that.
  3. If it continues, you might want to consider alternatives like Affinity Photo or GIMP.
