P: Artifacts on image while using uniform color with Color blending mode

Photoshop CC v20.0.0 is showing weird visual artifacts when using a 'uniform color' layer with color blending mode. Simply create a new 'uniform color' layer with H:0o, S:0% and B:50%. Then change the layer blend mode to 'Color'. I have already disabled the graphic processor and restarted PS without success. What it worked is to install the previous version of Photoshop CC v19.1.6, where this issue doesn't appear at all.

Could it be the new blending preview feature of the v20.0.0?

I'm using a MacBook Pro early 2015 retina 13", having Intel Iris Graphics 6100.

    Hi Kurt,
    What you're describing is possibly an issue we identified in Photoshop 20.0.0 and has been resolved in Photoshop 20.0.1.  Have you updated to version 20.0.1 to see if the color adjustments are properly merging?

    I'm having weird issues with my color adjustment layers merging correctly. I mostly see it in my real estate interiors. I take an image, create a color layer at 30% and paint with a brown color on a wood floor in the image to even out the tone, and then I merge visible layers. Since the latest update it's glitchy and is changing that color to green, and the green is shaped like a block in the general area.

    I have a file on which a layer with a full colour has random areas that are not filled in certain blend modes.

    The blend modes Darker Color, Lighter Color, Hue, Saturation, Color and Luminosity aren't working properly when using adjustment layers .

    I have both CC 2018 and CC 2019 installed on my Windows 10 System and using any adjustment layer with blend modes works correctly in CC 2018 but not in CC 2019.

    For example blending a red or cyan color adjustment layer in blend mode 'Color' produces a grey monochrome effect on the image below. Blending other color adjustment layers in 'Color' blend mode produces weird colours. 

    I've also noticed that using other adjustment layers in blend modes Darker Color, Lighter Color, Hue, Saturation, Color and Luminosity produces weird effects as well.

    I've followed some threads here in Photoshop Family and enabled Legacy Compositing and that has rectified the problem in CC 2019. Why though?

    I don't understand the first thing about Photoshop's compositing engine and why CC 2019 is different so would appreciate it if someone could explain. 

    What is the difference between the legacy and non-legacy compositing and will this issue be addressed?

    My Graphics driver GeForce GTX 970 is up to date.
    The issue is not present in CC 2018 which I still have installed.

    When using Flatten Image in Photoshop CC 2019, this color error occurs (the green areas in the middle). The original image has only beige and gray tones/color. This is not happening in CC 2018.

    Understood, thank you for your time and effort to help us identify this issue.  At this point, I can reproduce the behavior when setting the image mode to 16 Bits/Channel and.  I will discuss the issue further with my team internally to resolve this.  Thank you so much for your patience.

    For this particular file I'm woking at 8 bits/channel and it visual artifacts appears having the 'Legacy Compositing' flag off.. I then switched to 16 Bits/Channel, and same artifact appears.
