P: Auto Blend Layers not focus blending - Photoshop 2014.1

I have 4 registered images of fungi, all images are at the same exposure settings but focused at different levels within the frame. I need to 'blend' together to make one image with a combined DoF.
Ok, so I've imporetd into PSCC as 4 stacked Layers, non of which are Background Layers. I've selected all 4, auto alligned and then used Auto Blend Layers [ABL]. The outcome is that the top 3 layers have totaly black masks applied and the bottom all white. All I basically get as an output is one of the 4 images, no selectivity whatsoever, presumably because of the 3 totally black masks. It also executes the process very quickly.
I assume ABL should be selecting the better focused areas on each image [white on the black masks] and combining all to give me one image with collective DoF. This isn't happening

Chris,
Tried above, did not help.
Have a computer with CS6, Added PS-CC and Bridge-CC.
PS-CC and Bridge-CC do not have any of the above problems. Menues are back to where they should be.

Problem now is what are the files I need to add from CS6 to get PS-CC working correctly, they are not in the latest revision.

(Adobe's revision control needs some serious retraining or rework)

Could not get CS6 to download on my main machine, can not get my sign-on/password to work correctly.

Chris,
you are correct on the initial CC install and CS6 uninstall. BUT---- I have reinstalled PS-CC three times since then, it is still not set up for a correct install and there does not seem to be a way to get there.

You probably uninstalled an earlier version of Photoshop after installing CC 2014 and removed the scripts from Bridge (they didn't ref-count the files correctly).
Reinstalling Photoshop should replace the Bridge scripts.

Just checked again, after downloading 2014.2 yesterday. Th instructions tell you how to do it , the application does not allow you to do it, the Tools>Photoshop>Load Files into Photoshop Layers selection is missing in Bridge. Does this make sense ???

have you actually down loaded from the site (Mac Computer) and tried to use this function.
CS6 - it worked from Bridge very nicely
CC (2014.0) Picks from Bridge are gone, work arounds available.
CC(2014.1) Picks from Bridge are gone, focus stacking in PS does not work.
CC(2014.2) Picks from Bridge are still Missing, stacking in PS now works, just not well.

let me know how you do after trying on real computer.

That doesn't make sense. That stuff hasn't changed.
And the instructions are in the online help for each product.

It does not work the way it used to, load layers out of bridge, and there is no easy way to get instructions. I works if you open in PS then stack. Why are things fixed but never mentioned or explained to customers. The lists of things "new" is great, how about a list of "things fixed" and how to use them now.
