P: Can't start drawing from below a hidden layer drawer on mobile/iPad

On ipados 15.0.2, Photoshop 2.7.2, I can't start a line with the brush tool from the space where the layers drawer would be if it wouldnt be hidden. Even if the drawer is hidden the line wont start from there.
