P: Can't stretch palettes to full screen height in MacOS

Currently, there seems to be a maximum height allowance on panels. Meaning that I can't get my Layers palette to run 100% of the height of my 1440 tall display.

I'd like to not have that restriction so I can use that whole height. It's not like that space below the panels is really usable in its current form. I guess I could just have more panels open to take up the space but that adds clutter and negatively impacts the effectiveness that a taller Layers palette could provide.

I'm using 10.9.1 and am currently experiencing the issue

I'm also not able to stretch the Layers pallet past that height with something like Layer Comps below it — with the one below it expanded or collapsed

And which MacOS version are you using?

On the MBPr, I was using Thunderboldt to iMac (Target Display Mode) and a Mini-DisplayPort to 30" Cinema Display. Also my "primary" screen (where my dock was placed, and primarily where I was using PS) was on the iMac display.

It's probably worth mentioning I was experiencing this on an external from a retina MBP, too. A Thunderbolt Cinema Display

Hmm, can you try it on that system without the external displays?
And are those Retina externals, or normal resolution?

So far I can't reproduce this on any of my systems, but I'm wondering if somehow we're getting bad information from the OS about the external displays. It might help if you could post the Help -> System Info section on the display sizes.

I have the same issue. Can't resize height to the span of the window... Maybe it should be noted that I'm using a MBPro with Retina, with two 30" displays attached. I can try moving the panel(s) to the other displays, but they still have a maximum height.

Nope, no ideas. We'll have to see if we can reproduce the problem (I haven't so far on my machines).

I mean... any ideas?

The maximum height restriction is 32000 pixels.
I'm not sure why you can't resize the palettes any taller.

I'm showing Paths in the example image to hide the NDA stuff in the Layer names but you get the idea...
