P: Clone stamp "crosshair cursor" hidden when CTRL + H

There is a similiar thread about this issue, but since it's years old (and marked as "solved") I will start a new bugreport.

When I use the clone stamp, the source reference (the crosshair cursor) is not visible when you hide any selection.

CTRL + H = hide edges = hide clone stamp cursor.

I think it's a bug, since it doesn't make sense. I want to hide selection edges when cloning, but not the clone source/ crosshair itself.

Hi everyone,

I'm running Photoshop 27.4 on macOS.

I wanted to flag that a persistent bug with the Clone Stamp tool is still present. When using the Clone Stamp, the source reference (the crosshair cursor) is hidden if you use the Cmd + H (Mac) / Ctrl + H (Win) shortcut to hide extras.

There is an old thread about this marked as "solved," but the issue remains. It makes retouching workflow very difficult when you rely on hiding selections or guides but still need to see where you are cloning from.

Is anyone else still experiencing this? Hoping the product team can take another look.

Can confirm (Windows 11 / X64 / 27.4.0).

Cool, thx.

To be clear: the problem is not the selection (or cloning during any selection) but the shortcut (behaviour).

CTRL / COMMAND + H should not hide the crosshair of the clone source, I think. 🙂

```Bug is still there in 27.4.0 (Windows 11 / 64 bit).```
Also a lot of posts and screen recordings are removed here, since the new forum.
Any updates on this bug?
