P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

Haven't use this feature for a while but today I just found that I can no longer open any video files in the latest Photoshop v23.X. It'll always give me this error message "can not recognize your file type"

So then I've tried below "fix" I found:

- Allowing photoshop full disk access

- Give photoshop accessibility access in privacy setting

And still it doesn't work. Is it a known issue? Here's my system detail

Macbook Pro M1 Max 2021

MacOS Monterey 12.2.1

Photoshop v23.X (I've tried a few older versions and the issue persist)

Please help.

Just an update. As of Feb 22, video export is STILL not supported in Apple silicon. You need to open the intel version of photoshop in the Adobe creative app under the photoshop application or in Finder. It's unfortunate this feature is still missing after all this time.

Late to the party, but also frustrated by the lack of current support for rendering videos.

My work around, because I'm not interested in downloading yet another software, to accomplish a simple task that an older version of Photoshop is capable of, (besides the point) if it's not Apple its an OS. They both love pointing fingers.

Not ideal, BUT...I've rendered a stop motion by Saving for Web as a GIF (compresses file and definitely isn't ideal) then render GIF as an MP4 through After Effects or Premier Pro.

I hope this helps as an alternative to downloading more software that may or may not complicate things.

Also, hoping Apple and Adobe learn to hold hands sooner than later.

There is no "Export Video" item in the "File" menu "Export". Because of this, I can't save my animation. What should I do? Help me please.

My Photoshop app does not have "render video" option under File or under the four line button on my Timeline. I am trying to save my .gif file as a video and have no idea how to render it without the button.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We're here to help.

Which version of Photoshop are you using?

Please go to File> Export > Render image sequence and check if that works.

For more details, look at this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/saving-exporting-video-animations.html.

Let s know if that works.

Thanks.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Timeline, Options Bar, …) visible?

Have you clicked the »Create … Animation«-button yet?
