P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

Bonjour,

Are you using an M1 Mac? If so, you will need to run Photoshop under Rosetta to use video functions.

Hello,

I am trying to make a timelapse video. Every time I import the files the Video Group with the layer is created automatically, but I run into an error which states

"Video Layers are only available in Adobe Photoshop"

I run Photoshop on a Mac Air M1 and the 23.3.1 release of Photoshop.

Attached you can see a screenshot.

Any idea what this is about?

Thanks for your help

Timo

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Photoshop forum so that proper help can be offered.

Appreciate the answer - tried it... works! Still a bit frustrating that this is STILL not fixed though! Come on Apple/Adobe, that's what we pay the big bucks for!!

Hi guys, I'm pretty desperate to render out my videos. On a deadline.

I've just upgraded to a new mac, and have updated my photoshop. But I still cannot seem to render to video from photoshop. That export option seems to have disappeared. Can anyone help?

Hi

If you're using a MAC M1, you'll need to run Photoshop under Rosetta

Sorry for many emails / alerts you getting - but I bet you didn't restarted your photoshop - I tried with Rosetta enabled and it work and if I turn it off it shows "Render image sequence". If you're new on iOS - command+q is shut down app, otherwise they mostly goes to the taskbar and stay active.

Show your full screenshot with timeline and so on - maybe you're missing something. Restart OS maybe (it works for me without), I believe you restarted your Photoshop? 🙂

Ok I finially have Rosette show up but it doesn't make any difference. Here is a screen shot of Rosette box checked and Render Video still missing.  What do I do next to get Photoshop to work?
