P: CS6 / CC Keyboard shortcuts not responding Mavericks/Yosemite MacOS 10.9; 10.10

Since Installing Mavericks on my mac pro, the keyboard shortcuts, such as zooming in/out, undo etc, intermittently do not respond.
I have to click on another tool in the tool bar to get the keyboard to respond again.
The problem returns intermittently and seemingly not as a result of the Auto Save function.
My mac pro 15" has 8gb of ram which is more than enough for the type of work I do.I am an illustrator who primarily works around the brush tool.
Have tried disabling Graphics Processor and restarting, but this does not resolve the issue.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Howdy Steven,

Well, if you're willing, later today or tomorrow we could do a web-mediate screenshare to troubleshoot the problem... Ping me back if you're interested. The majority of users who've had this problem have been on Maverick, but perhaps there are various permutations of this bug...

Thanks,
David

If you want, we can try and do a web-conference/screenshare later this afternoon...

Hey Paolo,

Another application does not have to be running in order to cause a problem. Most screen capture apps have certain keystroke combos which cause them to take over keyboard input, for instance, but do not appear to be running and do not appear in the doc. See Jeff Tranberry's post, above, with the System Preference screenshot. I would check that as well. Most users who I had done a troubleshooting session on this didn't realize that their sidecar app was active either. If you want, I might be able to do a web-mediated screenshare with you later this afternoon (it's noon for me; I'm in California/Pacific Time).

Thanks,
David

If this is of any use, I can confirm that this bug happens on both Windows 7 and Mavericks. I experienced this problem on my Mac even before updating to Mavericks.

I use a Wacom Intuos 4 with the latest drivers. I've never run into this issue with my W7 machine prior to getting Photoshop CC

Edit to be more useful**

I had Photoshop CS6 on my W7 machine prior to upgrading to CC. I've never had this problem up until the upgrade.
After buying a macbook pro, I went ahead and got the creative cloud. This is when I noticed the hotkey bug.
Then came the Mavericks update. Still experienced the bug
The macbook is exclusively for design and illustration so I only have a few programs actually installed outside of the CC apps.

Paolo,

Again, we cannot reproduce this bug in-house without a tablet. That means there's at least one more variable which is not being captured or identified in this discussion. In order to solve this problem for you, however, we must figure out what that missing element is. That is why I ask the questions I ask and need clear answers.

I understand you have no tablet. What about other applications? I have seen MANY (50+) users who've had similar problems and when we diagnosed their system, some other application was causing the problem. Dictation is one big offender on Mavericks as are Wacom tablets, but I've seen others. What is on YOUR machine that makes it different than a vanilla, factory-install, which is what we're testing on?

David,

as I said in my post, it happens even with a one-button mouse.
no tablet here.

Howdy James,

The RADAR bug with Apple is 14470880. I do not know the Wacom number, sorry.

Thanks,
David

If you can get a reproducible case without Wacom, that would be really helpful. Of course, if the bug is on our end, we'll fix it ASAP. Any input you've got is helpful; obviously we're reading your posts! 8-)

Thanks,
David
