P: CS6 - Tearing a tab into its own window makes it impossible to move. (Win, Task Bar)

Tearing a tab into its own window makes it impossible to move. (I don't use tabs because they're too inflexible.) If I try to move a document, it snaps to a totally different spot. If I move it multiple times, it slowly migrates across the screen until it is impossible to work on at all. Turning off the tab setting altogether does not help this problem. In fact, at this rate, doing so would make getting anything done impossible.

Secondarily, it would also be nice if every new document window did not appear in my toolbar, because then I have to alt+tab through potentially 10 open documents each time I switch to Photoshop. Plus, it's really cluttered.

Hi Scott,

No ETA on a fix at this time, but the workaround for now is the best option. Hopefully that'll work for you in the meantime.

I recently installed CS6 upgrade (Windows 7) and have this exact problem. Any progress on this bug? Will Adobe be issuing a patch/fix anytime in the near future?

Photoshop CS6, Window bug
when you have hopened a photo and you try to change it's position on the screen, it jumps back. (you cannot change the position of the photo - at least not where you want to have it)

Workaround: you can resize the window from the borders.
(issue seems to appear only when windows task bar is left or top)

(Soo far only tested with the Windows version, Win7/32bit)

At this point, your other option is to move the taskbar away from the Leftside of the screen, or the top of the screen while using Photoshop with floating image windows.

I do not have information as to upcoming fix ETA.

Sorry, that workaround is not acceptable to me. Do you have any estimate of the date when a fix for this bug in Photoshop CS6 will be made available to your customers?

I'm having an identical issue which is making it very difficult to use Photoshop CS6. I also don't use tabbed windows because of their inability to drag and drop easily between various windows. I'm on a custom made intel i7 6 core PC and Windows 7 64bit. Utilizing a GTX670 video card, system is only a few days old, so all drivers are up to date and current.

First thing I noticed when I tried out my new toy today. I am sorry, but this is horrible, For now, I will continue to use Photoshop 12 - that can hardly be the desired result from all your hard work...

I use Windows 7 with the task bar docked to the left. Like Justin, I do not want to change the position of my task bar just for one app that misbehaves.
