P: cursor missing when you click generative ai contextual taskbar

I updated to Photoshop 27.10.0 and now when I click “generative fill” in the contextual taskbar, the cursor to type the prompt no longer appears automatically in the box for the prompt. So when I start typing, it cycles through the toolbar keyboard shortcuts instead. This is a glitch that did not exist in previous versions, I could always immediately start typing my prompt after clicking the generative fill button in the contextual taskbar.

      Thank you for clarifying, and you’re correct, this isn’t an issue with your keyboard shortcuts. I’ve been able to reproduce the behavior you’re describing in Photoshop 27.10. After clicking Generative Fill in the Contextual Task Bar, the prompt field does not automatically receive keyboard focus as it should. As a result, if you immediately start typing, Photoshop interprets those keystrokes as shortcuts instead of entering them into the Generative Fill prompt.
       

      We’ve reported this behavior to the Photoshop team for investigation.
       

      I’ve also tested the latest Photoshop Beta 27.11 build, and I’m no longer able to reproduce the issue there.
       

      Please install the latest Photoshop Beta from the Creative Cloud desktop app > Apps > Beta and test the workflow.

      You don’t need to uninstall Photoshop 27.10; the Beta can be installed alongside it.
       

      Please let us know whether the latest Beta resolves it for you as well. That confirmation would be helpful.
       

      In the meantime, on 27.10, clicking once inside the prompt field before typing is the available workaround.

      Hi ​@brilliant_being1ffd , Thanks for reaching out to the Photoshop Community Forums! Let's try to figure this out by testing out a few things:

      1. Resetting Photoshop Preferences: Meanwhile, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here:  https://adobe.ly/4jmvs7u. Please back up your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:  https://adobe.ly/3YW1WOu

      2. Quit Other Open Applications: Close other applications one by one to check if any are interfering with Photoshop's keyboard shortcuts.

      3. Use Keyboard Shortcuts: If the prompt box does not activate, you can try using the Tab key to cycle through the interface elements until the cursor appears in the prompt box.

      4. Disable Third-Party Utilities: Restart your computer in Safe Mode to turn off third-party extensions that may interfere with Photoshop.

      If none of these steps work for you, we can continue troubleshooting. I hope this helps!

      You did not address my issue, but thanks for trying. I don’t have a problem with keyboard shortcuts. My problem is that the cursor used to appear so I could type after hitting generative fill, and now the cursor does not appear and I cannot start typing.
