P: Disrupt edges when painting masks under adjustment layers

I've grouped a few layers and  added a mask to this group. On top of that mask I've placed an adjustment layer. When I am masking/brushing out parts of that groupmask, I get hard right angular edges and no smooth blending like it used to be. As soon as I zoom in, the edges are gone. Switched of the GPU acceleration, restart PS, same problem. Working on WIN10 and updated PS to the last version. Came from PS 2018, no problem over there.

The OP issue should be fixed in 22.x or later.

Are you using a tablet? or a mouse? What you have in your screenshoot doesn't look like the issue originally described in this thread.

Im having this same problem in version 22 and of course the legacy is no longer available. I can remove when drawing on a layer mask but it doesn't put back. See sample is me trying to paint with white to restore the mask.

Could we see your Photoshop System Info?

Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

I'm not seeing the issue in 21.1.1.

Would it be possible to get your PSD so we can fix the underlying issue?

That did the trick. Thank you.

Could you post your PSD for us to troubleshoot with?

Does enabling Preferences > Performance... "Use Legacy Compositing" make it work correctly?
