P: .dng and .ARW files when opened via RAW in photoshop 24.1 will not save

After updating Photoshop to 24.1,when I open one of my panoramas, created from .ARW in Camera RAW and saved as a .dng file, and I attempt to save I get the error "Could not complete the Save command because of a program error."

I am working on the hard drive of my Mac Mini, and this process has worked fine in the past.

Do I need to roll back the update ?

I have also just tested a .ARW file opening from RAW and it also doesn't save ??

Any help would be appreciated

Garth

@Garth Hayter Yay!  Thanks for confirming you're seeing the fix in the update we just released.  You're very welcome and I wish we could turn around fixes for all the issues out there.  Some are just harder to reproduce in-house or are very complicated to fix within a 30+ year old code base.  😉  Glad we could knock this one off quickly.  Thank you for reporting it.

Just a quick note to say thanks as the update [Photoshop 24.1.1] has fixed this issue.

It is nice when your voice is heard

Hello "schmidph"

Thanks for your input on this issue
I did test your RAW file and had the same issue
Open in Camera Raw, then Open in PS then it will not save until you either
hide all layers or do a save as
Not ideal but at least I can get back to my editing

All the best

Hello Jeff

Sorry about the delay, I have been away with the family

I am not sure if these will work for you

This is a DNG

This is a AWR

Thanks for following up

I am pretty sure it is not the files that are the cause

As I tested the issue using both new files and ones I know worked prior to the updating of PS

All the best for the festive season

Garth

I can repro. Will have engineering take a look.

Workaround:

Choose: File > Save As... or File > Save a Copy...

Same issue here since the update to the latest version of Photoshop on a MacBook Pro 2021, Apple M1 Pro, macOS Monterey 12.6.2

If I open a Canon CR3 Raw file in Photoshop, it's possible to edit the photo in Camera RAW and open it ins PS, but it's not possible to save it as an JPEG file in PS.

Hello Jeff

Unfortunately this did not work for me

The only work arround that works is hiding all layers then saving on the first pass from .AWD or .dng

Which is not ideal in the long run
