P: Does not release Power Management Assertions on OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

On Save operation Photoshop creates an operation system power management assertion which prevents the operating system to go in idle system sleep mode during save operation. Good idea in theory! My Problem is that Photoshop does not remove these assertions when the save operation is finished. I have to quit Photoshop to remove these assertions.

I checked this on command line with the following command

macmini:~ alexander$ pmset -g assertions
2015-07-12 16:10:35 +0200
Assertion status system-wide:
BackgroundTask 0
ApplePushServiceTask 0
UserIsActive 0
PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep 0
PreventSystemSleep 0
ExternalMedia 1
PreventUserIdleSystemSleep 1
NetworkClientActive 0
Listed by owning process:
pid 19397(Adobe Photoshop): [0x0001c9720001012d] 00:01:42 PreventUserIdleSystemSleep named: "background save"
pid 53(powerd): [0x000000070008012c] 162:17:59 ExternalMedia named: "com.apple.powermanagement.externalmediamounted"
Kernel Assertions: 0x4=USB
id=500 level=255 0x4=USB mod=05.07.15 21:59 description=EHC1 owner=AppleUSBEHCI
id=501 level=255 0x4=USB mod=12.07.15 12:20 description=EHC2 owner=AppleUSBEHCI

PreventUserIdleSystemSleep means no idle system sleep any more until the assertion is gone. This Problem is new in Photoshop CC 2015. CC 2014 does not have this problem.

Me too. (Is there a better way to register interest in an issue?)

I reported the same problem on July 6 on the community forum for Photoshop.

I'm having this same exact problem. Any resolution yet?

OK, we'll have to investigate and see if we can reproduce that problem.

Here you see the problem. No open image in photoshop at all and still assertions that prevent power management. Some of them are older than 1 Day.

That's true and these Assertions are good, but Photoshop should release these Assertions when the saving is finished. Right?

You don't want the system to go to sleep while the file is saving (because you could lose the file). The background save should prevent sleep, because it is saving a file.

After some more editingI can see even more assertions even without any open image in photoshop.
