P: File name and extension highlight when saving on macOS 10.15 Catalina

New release old problem. Please fix

Another major release and still no fix. 

21.2 release out today and this is still the issue still persists. Same behavior in Photoshop and Illustrator. HOWEVER, in Indesign, an save as or Export command does not show the extension in the top text bar, the only way you know the extension is by looking at the bottom toggle dropdown selector. So not sure why they can't just script it to remove adding the extension in editable text line and and add it after hitting SAVE or EXPORT. 

You can use scripts in this topic, and actions, to quickly save for web with one button - if you're using same settings each time.

Keeping up with this thread because I have this problem as well. What's interesting is I regularly use 3 different apple computers (2 iMacs, 1 Macbook) that are all up to date with Catalina and have the same versions of Photoshop, but I only have this problem on one of them. Truly baffling.

With every small update I hope that this will be addressed and it's so irritating that it hasn't been. It just destroys my workflow to have to worry about the file extension every single time. And the duplicate alerts about overwriting files! What's the deal, Adobe?!

Same here. Small annoyance just once or twice but infuriating to deal with everyday for weeks/years.

I don't have this issue with Illustrator or PS on Windows.

Please fix!

I'm so thankful to find this thread. This has been a huge waste of time to have to use my cursor to name the file. It used to be so straight forward and didn't require more mouse work. I'm adding myself to the list, with a plea that this be fixed!

Yes same. I think on Windows it wasn't like this...

I am having the same issue in all Adobe apps. Please fix.
