P: File name and extension highlight when saving on macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello. After last updates (Osx Catalina and CC 2020), when the save window appear, the focus, highlite, is on all the file name and extension instead only the filename. I suspect the issue is related to Catalina, but I ask if anyone has noticed the same thing. My working speed is affected and I would like to know if anyone has a solution to ensure that only the file name is highlighted (in save and export).

    when you save for web on a mac the entire filename is highlighted. for example, Save Optimized As "image.jpg" when you click in the field to change the name you have to click once to unhighlight and then select with the arrow the name image with the mouse and make sure you don't delete the .jpg or you will have to type it again to keep it as a web image... it is soooo annoying when you work with web images a lot like me.

    It's still a problem on Big Sur. So Apple won't be helping us for at least another year. Please Adobe, fix this!

    whoa whoa whoa, lets not get carried away. I never thought either so lets take a deep breath...and agree MS doesn't deserve any praise either. They have been at this longer than Adobe and in some broad strokes are even further behind. I KNOW we all have a bunch of praise we'd like to lavish on something...it just can't be Adobe or MS I'm sorry. lol

    Can't believe this is still going on. It's causes an annoyance dozens of times a day! Adobe can fix this, even if it's a Catalina problem.

    Please fix this annoying bug! other software companies managed to handle the same issue (I never thought I would ever praise MS)

    Yes, it's really strange and I get so used to it working one way and become just that much more frustrated when I switch computers. My main two are completely up to date with Catalina and Creative Cloud. There's no obvious difference between them.

    I tried that as well but it doesn't keep the entire filename from being highlighted.

    Hmm.. This isnt working for me. I chose "never" and when I save for web, it still highlights the filename and extension.   Does it not do this for you?

    nope. doesn't solve the issue of Save As... highlighting filename and extension automatically (rather than the typical MacOS default of highlight filename only).
