P: Floating document windows in fullscreen w/menu bar causes window to jump to center

With the new release, the zooming mechanism has changed and it always behaves as if "Zoom Clicked Point to Center" was turned on when I am using keyboard shortcut (mapped to Wacom Pen). It works as expected when I'm zooming with scroll wheel.

Photoshop CC 2020 (21.1.0)
The same problem. Zoom shortcuts (cmd+ and cmd-) cause center view to entire image.

Still happening for me with 19.1 on High Sierra. Brand new install of CC on my work laptop. Here's a video.

If you go to this new conversation you find THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED

Not quite sure what happened, but last week I updated on Version 19.0.1 after going back to 18.0. (I'm sure on this!) But this morning the 19.0 Version is on my computer and I can't see the 19.0.1 in the Cloud ... I already restarted the computer and it's still gone ... my colleague though can see and download it ... ?! Help ... Please?! 😉

I'm having a related but different zooming trouble--it used to be that when I worked in frames and tabs the image would center itself when smaller than the frame when zooming OUT.  Now it will only do it while zooming in.  I can zoom WAY out and then zoom back in a click to re-center, but this is annoying because I don't always zoom out far enough or too far.......

This is with High Sierra and the latest updates.

similar issue but separate from the original thread

Please reference the new conversation here: Photoshop CC 2018: Using Crop tool and zoom together snaps the view to the middle...

Yes, that snap to center with the crop tool active is a different bug which has been around for a few years and has yet to be fixed..

Not fixed.
1. Have a large image 65"x40".
2. Select crop tool.
3. Use keyboard shortcuts to temporarily switch to zoom tool (Mac: Cmd+Space)
4. Drag a Box to Zoom to a corner...
and...
5. Boom. Photoshop recenters the current view to the middle of the image.
6. Zoom all the way out. (Cmd+0)
7. Step 3 again...
8. Works as expected.

A first attempt at this ALWAYS zooms/pans to the center.
A second attempt ALWAYS works as expected, by zooming the area selected by zoom tool.
Every.
Single.
Time.

Standard Screen mode.
Mac's non-full-screen mode, but app window expanded to fit monitor.
Tabbed mode.

Illustrator tries to do this too. Use the Zoom Tool as "Zoom to Selection"...which needs a separate keyboard shortcut. Like say, what Freehand had 17 years ago, "Cmd + =".
Stop using ZoomIn / ZoomOut for selection based zooming. It doesn't work and it bad UI/UX to boot.

haha awww I seriously love this. I had the first version of Photoshop as a kid and lost countless hours on it. I love people, photography, problem-solving and Photoshop 🙂
