P: Healing brush pixel artifacts

Just upgraded to PS 24.1.1 on an M1 Pro MacBook Pro and am seeing some pixel edge artifacts with the healing brush (see attached). Legacy brush doesn't seem to be affected and I'm not experiencing any problems with the clone stamp. Anyone have some ideas?

Update: After additional testing this issue seems to only occur in Grayscale. I've tried Grey Gamma 2.2 and Dot Gain 20% in 16bpc and 8bpc. Converting the same document back to RGB resolves the issue. I've also tested with the GPU disabled and the same behaviour is present. Any insights would be appreciated.
