P: Hidden Tool Bar pops-up under document window

When photoshop is open and the panels have been closed by using the tab key, mousing over the left side of the application frame will not completely open the tools tab. The panels tab will completely open.

This is fixed in CS6 or later.

Thank you very much. I have talked with several people and they didn't see the problem. I knew it was wrong but couldn't fix it. Thanks

Thank you for the screen shots. Now that I understand things better I see that the same happens on my side (previously I didn't have an image open when I tested). What is happening is that the Tool Bar is actually appearing behind the document window, while it is supposed to appear on top of it, just as the panels do.

I see that the Tool bar correctly appears above the document window tab at the top and the status bar at the bottom. This has suggested to me that the issue is OpenGL related. I have now verified that is the case by going to Photoshop>Preferences>Performance and unchecking "Enable OpenGL Drawing" and reopening the document. Disabling this option allows the Tool Bar to correctly appear above the document window, but disabled a number of other features.

I'll get this reported to our engineers for repair.

This is the first one PS open with the application bar all panels displayed.

this the third when mousing over the left side of the application bar trying to open the tool bar.

you have to look closely but the tools bar is just showing.
this is the fourth shot when mousing over the adjustment bar. It is fully open.

Try saving them as jpeg instead of PNG, or cropping them to the relevant parts.

each time the program says the files must be smaller than 2mb. The file is 2.2 mb I have tried to compress it with stuffit, this was not allowed

To add a screen shot, click the "Add Image" button (click the button that is an abstract icon of an image, not the words "Add Image" themselves) in the lower right of the comment box, just above the "Reply" button.

I am not sure about adding these screen shots but this is the first one PS open with the application bar open. Nest will be after selecting the tab key to hide the tools and adjustment panels.

Third is mouse over left hand side to expose tool panel

Next is mouse over the right side to expose the adjustment panel

Could you provide some before and after screen shots? Before the panels are tabbed away and after you mouse over the side to make them pop out. Because for me it seems to be working. But it may have something to do with your current panel layout.
