P: I have no text cursor/highlight, no bounding boxes, or selection edges working on CMYK documents

I just updated photoshop to 2019 20.0 and now the text tool is misbehaving. I see no cursor and I can't select tpe. There is just nothing. I obviously disabled the stupid lorum ipsum nonsense, so when I click with the text tool, there is absolutely no indicatation that anything is happening. My coworker has the same problem and reset his preferences which fixed nothing.
Running Sierra 10.12.6

As of the moment I have text control again. I deselected "Use Graphics Processor" in Preferences/Performance.

I found a solution on another forum. Don't know if it's the best way, but it works. Go to Preferences / Performances / Advanced and set the Drawing Mode to Basic then restart Photoshop.
My drawing Mode was already in Basic mode so I Choose the second one (called "Normal" in french) and it works.

I have the same problem since the last update (PS v22), even with RGB files. The solution given by Glenn Davy isn't effective (sorry for my english).

WTH.....this BLOWS Adobe....just upgraded, and nada, I mean compared to Covid this ain't sh-t, but we aren't asking for much. WE JUST WANT TO SEE AND HIGHLIGHT OUR TEXT !! Asking us to do these half-assed work arounds is, what's the word I'm looking for....(the word our author has chosen is not available in this country). It's snowing here in Massachusetts, I've got a lovely bottle of Mezcal, I'll do something else while you shuffle some more code around until you get it right.

When I double click on the T in the layer panel, only part of the text shows highlighted. If I need to change out a letter, I can't see when I have highlighted it, if the letter is in the section that wasn't highlighted by double clicking.

It is really tough to do an edit. I don't know if i really highlighted the character or not or if I got the right one, until I make a change and commit - then I can see if I did it right.

Please fix.
