P: I have no text cursor/highlight, no bounding boxes, or selection edges working on CMYK documents

The boundary box is missing when I transform!! Why??? Adobe please fix PSD. I resorted to go back to my CS3 system.

i have the same issue as well, running photoshop with macOS High Sierra. this issue is huge and a time suck. hoping for a fix soon!

Why is there no update on this issue? The workaround of turning off the coprocessor and opening a new RGB first DOES NOT WORK. When I try to use the text tool anytime (even in a first created new RGB doc), NOTHING HAPPENS, except I create dozens of text layers. I can draw a box but can't click inside and type. I never get a flashing text cursor. This is a big deal. Why isn't it fixed already? This thread is dead 2 months now.

When I select the lasso tool and place points on the artboard you can't see the line placed by either mouse or pen. 
You have to randomly cross over the area where you placed the first point to connect the lasso. It's supper annoying. 

macOS 10.12.6 (Sierra), Photoshop CC 2019 (20.0.1).

Ever since the update,

> I cannot view bounding boxes
> Cannot view transform tool edges or text box edges
> Cannot view the text being selected/highlighted

Particularly frustrating because literally no work can proceed without being able to control these.

The transform handles are not showing in my screen on the most updated photoshop.  I also checked the show transform controls on option bar that is not helping either.

Thank you Hannah. This workaround solves text selection as well as control tools and layer selection issues I've been having. The other workaround suggested was to disable GPU acceleration, which also does the trick

Preferences > Type... uncheck "Fill new layers with placeholder text"

^^ it's a preference, so that's the how it works. If you don't want placeholder text, uncheck it. Thanks
