P: Introducing scale the UI 200% for high-density displays for Windows

The Photoshop team welcomes your feedback on this experimental feature. Let us know what you think!

Photoshop user interface controls may appear small and hard-to-read on high-density displays. Also, on touch-enabled screens, you may have trouble clicking the smaller controls. 200% scaling solves this issue by doubling the size of the user interface.

Since the user interface elements increase in size by 200%, depending on the size and resolution of your display, you may need to adjust the layout of existing workspaces. For example, on a 1080 px screen at 200%, the Tools panel extends off the bottom of the screen. You can change to double-column orientation in order to fit the panel on the screen.

Note: This feature is only for Windows users. HiDPI on Mac has been available for high-density Retina displays since Photoshop CS6.

Caveats

You may encounter some cosmetic issues while using this feature. While many Photoshop dialogs have been reworked so that they fit on the screen at 1080 px, viewing some dialogs (such as Smart Sharpen) completely may require you to collapse sections.

Disable 200% UI scaling

If you need to return to the default 100% scaling, do the following:

1. Select Preferences > Experimental Features.
2. Deselect Scale UI 200% For High-Density Displays (Windows Only).
3. Restart Photoshop.

I have checked and has rolled back to v8.0.0.137.

I have looked in the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app, but cannot find mention of Camera raw 9.1. ( I can see everything else!)

I have just noticed that I am invited to update Photoshop CC (2015) again. I have just done this and lo and behold I am now on Camera Raw 9.1. Yippee!!!

Is there any way to stop the 'Welcome' splash screen. There used to be an option to 'don't show again'.

Is there also any way to import my old crop presets?

Many thanks

Apparently some people are seeing Camera Raw roll back to v8.0 after the update. Can you go to Help>About>Plug-Ins>Camera Raw... and let me know what version you have installed?

Then check in the Creative Cloud desktop application for the Camera Raw 9.1 update and see if you can install it.

Thanks.

Now here is a new bag of worms:

I have just upgraded my Photoshop CC (2014) to the (2015) version.

1. The option to change the gui to 200% seems to have disappeared from the preferences list. BUT my upgraded version has retained the 200% setting so I am happy.
2. Adobe Camera RAW, which was OK with my (2014) version now has miniscule text. AAAAHHHHHHH.............!!!!!!!!!

Does any one know how to set the text size in RAW?

Come on guys, give Chris a break.

Working with what?

The majority of mainstream programs happily accept UI scaling from Windows, what makes you the exception?

Perhaps shifting the blame onto Windows?

Again, we are continuing to work with Microsoft on the issues needed to allow more flexible UI scaling on Windows.

This feature is mandatory for users of 4K monitors (or greater), but there needs to be available various percentages. I find 200% too big and would like to see more options.

Thank you

I just noticed something that may help either Adobe techs or lead them to a quicker solution. I have widows set to the default setting including fonts and screen sizes.

I opened an 8.5X11 page in PS cc 2014 and the same in ms word 2010.

Using the same exact font, Arial and size 11 I typed my name. On the screen, PS results were smaller than the word.both program were viewed at 100%. Also the printouts resulted in different sizes. I hope this helps
