P: Kerning using ALT + arrows sometimes doesn't work

In Photoshop CS6 on OSX 10.7 and 10.8 (don't know in Windows) kerning using ALT + arrows doesn't work properly.

At first it works, BUT if you change some parameter in the "character panel" and come back to the text, it's no working anymore. You have click again in ANY field in ANY panel (ex. character size), come back to your text field and it is working again.

Kind of annoying when you are in a hurry.

I can make a video or explain it with more details if you cannot reproduce the bug.

I hope you include this in the next upgrade, it is getting me crazy. In japanese you have to correct the kerning all time.

Thanks

Hi Pete,

I took a video of the bug behaviour and how I do in order to use again the arrows kerning (a little annoying when you are working)

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/551378/PSbug...

I am working on OSX 10.8.2 and using PS CS6 13.0.1 x64. Using OSX in english and I have 3 keyboards layout: english, spanish and japanese.
The bug don't care about the keyboard layout.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Daniel,

I just tried several times to get it to reproduce on 2 different systems and haven't been able to reproduce yet.
If the mouse cursor is in a dialog screen/panel field that accepts arrow key movements (like many in the character panel), then I notice that the shortcut gets focused in the dialog rather than adjusting the kerning.

If I click away from the panel by clicking to the type layer, and make sure the text is selected, alt+arrows (left and right) adjust the kerning every time for me.

Maybe you could record a video of the behavior you're seeing?

Or you may just Try restoring your prefs: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/usin...

It may just be a corrupted preference related behavior

Not only that, moving the text cursor with the arrows sometimes doesn't work.
