P: Lasso Tool line disappears after a few seconds of holding the 'alt' key down (win 10)

When using the lasso tool to make selections, it makes sense to choose 'Polygonal lasso tool' and then hold the 'alt' key to change into freeform lasso as needed. Relasing the 'alt' key goes back to polygonal mode.
On Windows 7 and using Photoshop CC 2018, this was fine. However, moving to a Windows 10 machine with PS CC 2018 (and even with PS CC 2019) the lasso line disappears after a few seconds of holding the 'alt' key down. This makes detailed masking very tricky as you need to do it in very small parts.
I can only imagine this is some sort of OS related issue as on a W7 machine, it was all fine. It is only now we have moved our office over to W10 that we are getting this bug.
The machines are all high end: mine is an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX with 64GB RAM.

Legacy mode seems to help the normal map creation. It has no effect on the lasso problem.

I'll try the legacy option. Here are a couple of videos to show the issues:-
Video1 - Lasso
Video2 - normal

I have tried on my end but have not been able to reproduce so far.
Did you already try turning on "Legacy Compositing" in Preferences > Performance panel (requires reopening the document)?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. These are brand new PCs, freshly installed. The cards are GTX 1080Ti. I disabled use gfx processer and restarted. Same problem.
Have you had a go yourself?

Another bug I have found is in the 3d filter to create a normal map: the various sliders etc don't update. You need to change from sphere to cube and back again to see updates. this is unworkable.

Do Adobe actually test these updates before shipping? We pay a lot of money for this.

Hi Richard,
Have you tried updating graphic card driver? Also make sure to update Wacom tablet driver if you use one. Does it happen when you turn off "Use Graphics Processor" in Preferences > Performance? It requires reopening the document to become effective.
