P: Lens Blur Fails

Just installed the update to Photoshop CC 2020 but Lens Blur now fails to work. I get a total checkerboard effect and if I click OK the filter simply fails and leaves the image blank/checker-boarded. HELP !!!

    Rolled back to Photoshop CC2019 and everything works fine in 16bit mode so must be an issue with the update. Lens Blur still works fine and performance is same as before. Looks like the Lens Blur update has failed when its supposedly had its performance improved. Now what ??

    Just ascertained that it seems to be centred around 16bit mode and also noticed that Filter Gallery now only works in 8bit mode as well.
