P: Locked Text Layer Problem, video example

I'm having an issue with locked text layers. In the following video, I try and edit the text in a locked text layer. It doesn't allow me (as it shouldn't) but then shortcut keys no longer work. I unlock the layer, manually click on the type tool, then try and edit the text in the (now) unlocked layer. The text inserts all my keystrokes that I had been hitting.

I can't imagine this is how it's supposed to work. I'm currently using Photoshop CC 2014 on OSX 10.8.5, but I'm positive I've seen this happen in previous versions, I've only now realized what was happening. The same thing happens on OSX 10.9.4 (I'm doubting the OS is at fault, just saying)

This should be fixed in the Photoshop CC (2015) update.

I believe this is fixed in CC 2014.2.2 update. ahainen - are you still seeing this with the latest updates?

Howdy,

I believe this might be related to an existing issue we have, but nonetheless, it's a great catch. I've gone ahead and logged the bug. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Thanks again,
David
