The text box 'Name' for the text replacement variable does not accept the letter "P" or "p". my keyboard works fine elswhere

When i type the letter p or P in the Data Set field it only toggles the preview checkbox and doesn't output the letter in the field. I have to cut and paste a "p" from somewhere else.

Looks like that's only on the Mac side in Photoshop 2026 (ps version 27.2)

Seems to work fine on the Windows side.

Image>Variables>Define, then Text Replacement or Visibility fields

I also see the screen, I just can't type the letter 'P' in that feild.... 😉

Hi @andrel78469440, thanks for reaching out!
I tried testing on my end but couldn’t reproduce the issue. What version of Photoshop are you using? Does the P key work with other tools, like the text tool or when using shortcuts?
You might also try closing any other apps you have open to see if that helps. Another option is resetting Photoshop preferences, just note this will remove custom settings like brushes and workspaces, so make sure to back them up first. Here’s a quick guide:

I have the latest version of photoshop. "P or p" works every where, in all Apps. I can do a cut/paste of a P in the feild but can't type it. I have re-booted...
